Kids Class, 4 hour Wax-Metal express

Two x 2hr sessions introducing you to the tools, materials and essential techniques of wax jewellery making and metal finishing. Ideal to see if wax jewellery making is for you. Also a perfect introduction for children 7 and up.

Skills covered

• An overview of the wax jewellery process
• You will create 2+ wax designs, each one covering a different essential skill
• Wax ring resizing
• Wax texturing techniques
• Instructions on how to get your designs cast
• An overview of ways to finish your metal castings
• Learn how to use tools required to remove the casting sprues
• Learn correct filing and sanding techniques
• Learn various polishing techniques to make your jewellery shine!
• Methods you can use at home with a minimal tool set

What next?

• You can continue with ongoing sessions as and when required to work on skills related to your area of interest. These are at a rate of $36/hr
• You can enroll in the Intensive Wax Jewellery Course covering a wide range of skills tailored to your interest, beginner to advanced including mould making, wax carving, sculpture and various experimental techniques.
• You can enroll in our mould making course and discover the full potential of wax jewellery making by learning how to mass produce your designs, copy, modify & incorporate found objects and existing jewellery pieces into your own designs.

• One child: $140 (2x 2hr sessions)
• Two children: $280 (2x 2hr sessions)
• Three children: $380 (2x 2hr sessions)
• Four children: $420 (2x 2hr sessions)
• Five children: $524 (2x 2hr sessions)

Availability: This class runs multiple times per week on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays between 8am & 3:30pm.  We offer a wide variety of course options so booking is essential.
