Kids Class, Intro to Wax Jewellery making

A 2hr session introducing kids to the tools, materials and essential techniques of wax jewellery making. Ideal to see if wax jewellery making is for them. Kids will learn to make several designs in wax which they can then choose to get cast in metal if they wish (extra cost) Also a perfect introduction for children 7 and up.

Skills covered

• An overview of the wax jewellery process
• You will create 2+ wax designs, each one covering a different essential skill
• Wax ring resizing
• Wax texturing techniques
• Intro to stone setting
• Instructions on how to get your designs cast

What next?

• kids can choose to get their wax designs cast in metal (at extra cost) and attend an intro to metal finishing course where they learn to file, sand and polish their designs
• continue with ongoing sessions as and when required to work on skills related to your area of interest.
• You can enrol in the Intensive Wax Jewellery Course covering a wide range of skills tailored to your interest, beginner to advanced including mould making, wax carving, sculpture and various experimental techniques.
• You can enrol in our mould making course and discover the full potential of wax jewellery making by learning how to mass produce your designs, copy, modify & incorporate found objects and existing jewellery pieces into your own designs.

Duration: 2 hour session

Availability: This class runs multiple times per week on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays between 8am & 3:30pm.  We offer a wide variety of course options so booking is essential.
